Stephenie Meyer Interview in Entertainment Weekly

Just found this super Stephenie Meyer interview in Entertainment Weekly. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know she’s the author of the teen vampire romance novels Twilight, New Moon, and the forthcoming Eclipse. Her first two books have sold a combined 1.3 million copies worldwide.

I read Twilight and enjoyed it, but it fascinates me to hear that she doesn’t read vampire novels and is creeped out by vampire movies. I don’t think I’d have the cohones to write in a genre that I hadn’t read.

The fact that she hasn’t read vampire books doesn’t surprise me in the least. She’s mutilated all the things that make vampires awesome and made them into…well, pretty boys. It’s like if N’SYNC became “vampires.” Yuck.

I completely agree with you Madeline!!! she distroyed vampire culture..but the books are good though… i cant deny it!! i just love them!! exept for the last one..but anyways..i just hope she doesn’t finish killing vampires by making a mess out of midnight sun… if she ever continues to write it…
